Who we are<\/h2>\r\n

The research team is made up of\u00a0a partnership of academic and health professionals with national and international HIV experience:<\/h3>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\"\"<\/p>\r\n

Michael Evangeli <\/u>is a Professor and Clinical Psychologist with research and clinical HIV experience (including using both MI and CBT) in the UK and South Africa. In addition to his doctoral clinical training, he has a Public Health in Developing Countries MSc from LSHTM, is the PI of a ViiV Healthcare UK funded study evaluating a residential intervention for young people living with HIV, and has been a co-applicant on a multi-centre UK MRC-funded behavioural sexual health intervention.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\"\"<\/p>\r\n

Victor Musiime\u00a0<\/u>is a Senior Lecturer at Makerere University, College of Health Sciences, Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Uganda; and a Consultant Paediatrician at Joint Clinical Research Centre, Uganda, where since 2004 he has provided clinical care to HIV-infected children and adolescents as well as being a PI or co-PI on several studies at the site, including a ViiV Healthcare funded study on documenting the transition experiences of young people from Paediatric to adult care. <\/u><\/p>\r\n

\"\"<\/p>\r\n

Caroline Foster\u00a0<\/u>is a Consultant in Adolescent HIV with extensive experience of working with young people with HIV in the UK and resource limited contexts. She has adolescent HIV clinical trials experience and is a member of the WHO adolescent HIV guidance committee.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Sarah Fidler\u00a0<\/u>is a Professor and Consultant Physician with extensive clinical and international HIV research experience. She has been a PI and co-PI on many clinical trials, including PopART-HPTN071.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Graham Frize <\/u>is a Clinical Psychologist with a number of years of international clinical and research experience of working with young people and adults with HIV.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Janet Seeley <\/u>is a Professor of Anthropology and Health. She has been engaged in research related to HIV in Uganda since 1989.\u00a0 Over the past decade she has conducted research with children and young people living with HIV, and has been PI and co-PI on a number of studies.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\"\"<\/p>\r\n

Anette Uwizera\u00a0<\/u>\u00a0is the Uganda study coordinator. She has a background in social science and human rights.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Georgina Gnan<\/u>\u00a0is the UK study coordinator. She is a postdoctoral researcher with research experience in stigma and mental health. She completed her PhD in LGBT+ mental health at the IoPPN in 2019 after gaining her BSc in Psychology at UCL and a Masters in Psychiatric Research at the IoPPN.<\/p>\r\n
